Finally jumped in yesterday and swam for a bit. Wasn't too bad (64 degrees). I figured after swimming at Laguna a couple of weeks ago that this just needed to be done. So-git-er-done-I-did. Plus with the lake so muddy I got a bonus mud treatment for my aging skee-in.
Good way to celebrate the Haymarket massacre.

First Dogwood of 2008
Here's the first Dogwood on my property this year. A bunch have been blooming in town for the last week or two I assume due to the heat island effect.

With slipstream Psilocybin silliness
Hank and I ascend the Anasazi trail
toward Pueblo Alto.
Step by giggling step;
rocks breathing in rhythm
with our high-altitude pant.
Endless cairns make pass
(some need adjustment, most not)
their oblique implications
we disunderstand.
Humans lurk ahead
out of psychic range.
We ignore them.
Nuevo Pueblo looms,
framed by teasing thunderstorms.
My stomach hurts.
I have to shit.

Perception is gnosis
Or as Groucho Marx said on his deathbed: "All you ever really have is what you've managed to pull out of your ass."
